Selin Yagci

Selin Yagci is a PhD Candidate at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), in the Society, Technology and Culture program.

Selin received her BA in economics from the Middle East Technical University and her MA in cinema and TV from Kadir Has University, where she worked as a graduate assistant for the Faculty of Communication and wrote her master’s thesis on ontology of cinematic image and ghost films. She is currently based in Barcelona as a full time doctoral student at UOC.

Selin’s research focuses on imaginaries of youth and narratives over space, with a certain interest in historical turn and spatial turn in youth studies. She is currently working on her research on remembering and reimagining the lost punk spaces in Ankara and in Barcelona.
