Postdoctoral researcher (ERC StG project MapModern – “Social Networks of the Past”)
Laura Fólica is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Arts and Humanities and the IN3 (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya).
She is a member of the Global Literary Studies Research Lab (GlobaLS), and the principal investigator (alongside Diana Roig-Sanz ) of the research line Global Translation Flows. She is also a member of the ERC StG project “Social Networks of the Past. Mapping Hispanic and Lusophone Literary Modernity, 1898-1959” (Grant Agreement: 803860).
She specializes in the sociology of translation, Latin American studies, periodical publications, and the digital humanities. She is currently studying literary translation in Ibero-American periodicals using digital-tools, taking a large-scale and transnational approach.
She has published more than thirty articles and book chapters on literary translation from an historical and sociological perspective. She has also translated books for Ibero-American publishing houses focused on the humanities and social sciences (including authors such as P. Casanova, R. Chartier, E. Roudinesco, G. Sapiro, J.-M. Schaeffer, and E. Traverso, among others).
