Olivia Magaña
Olivia Magaña is a PhD candidate at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. She is carrying out her doctoral thesis in the framework of the Global Literary Studies Research Lab (GlobaLS) and within the project “Translating diversity: Institutional Agents and Literary Translation Policy-Making in Iberoamerica (2002-2022)” funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. Her thesis has been awarded a research staff training grant (FPI) by the Spanish State Investigation Agency. She analyzes literature from a gender and class perspective, with a focus on queer literature. Her research explores the relationship between policy and literature, with particular emphasis on how translation and culture serve as tools of soft power and nation branding in the current political context.
