Olivia Magaña and Lucía Campanella took part in FIL Guadalajara with a talk on translation funding
Olivia Magaña and Lucía Campanella, researchers at GlobaLS – Global Literary Studies Research Lab, participated in the professional programme of the Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL Guadalajara) with the talk “Translation Funding Programmes and Their Impact on the Circulation of Literature in and from Ibero-America,” moderated by Marta Salicrú.
The conversation took place on 2 December 2025 and focused on the internationalisation of various Ibero-American literatures, drawing on the data and macro-analysis carried out within the framework of the project Trad-Divers (Translating Diversity: Institutional Agents and Literary Translation Policy-Making in Ibero-America (2001–2022)).
During the session, the speakers discussed the impact of public translation funding programmes on the international circulation of literary works, as well as the institutional dynamics shaping the global projection of Ibero-American literatures. Based on the quantitative and comparative research developed within Trad-Divers, they examined funding patterns, translation flows, and trends in transnational cultural promotion.
