Marian Garrido
Marian Garrido is a visual artist, cultural manager, and educator specializing in art, design, and critical narratives. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, a degree in Design, and completed the Master’s in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture at the Reina Sofía Museum. Her artistic practice explores several intersecting axes: accelerated capitalism and its survival through adaptability capable of absorbing or reshaping discourses and ideologies, and sci-fi as a scenario for speculative contingency.
With a recognized career, her work has been exhibited at prestigious institutions such as La Casa Encendida, Ca2M, Matadero Madrid, Fabra i Coats, Sala Arte Joven, and Centro de Arte Conde Duque, as well as at international fairs including ARCO, Art’O’Rama (Marseille), Material Art Fair (Mexico City), and Sunday Art Fair (London). Among her awards are Generaciones 2017, the Premi Miquel Casablancas, and the Matadero 2019 Annual Creation Residencies.
With an extensive academic trajectory in renowned institutions, she currently serves as Director of the Design Faculty at the University of Technology and Digital Art (U-TAD).
