Swaeny Nina Kersaan

Swaeny Nina Kersaan is a PhD Candidate at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), in the Society, Technology and Culture program under the supervision of Dr Natàlia Cantó Milà and Dr Aurea Mota.

Her previous professional background is in digital-, participatory-, and performance art. She holds a BA in fine arts from ArtEZ the University of the Arts, Arnhem the Netherlands, and an MA from the University of Westminster in Art and Visual Culture, London the United Kingdom. The focus of her MA dissertation is on the exploration of surveillance and the digital subject in contemporary art. She has been working as an independent artist visualising topics such as surveillance, digital subjectivity, and the role of avatars.
