Rubén Rodríguez Casañ

Rubén is a research assistant at GlobaLS and in the ERC project “Social Networks of the Past: Mapping Hispanic and Lusophone Literary Modernity, 1898-1959”, where he is responsible for tasks such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), image processing and the generation of complex networks.

He has a degree in Physics from the University of Valencia (UV), and studied a master’s degree in Data Science at the UV.

His professional career began at the Aquaservice company training demand prediction models, message self-management models, and data visualization, among other tasks.

For several years, his interest in applying data science to the field of social sciences has led him to undertake different projects and studies. For example, he has analyzed the communities generated around political parties on social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube or Telegram. He has participated in the report “La prostitución en la Comunidad Valenciana, una mirada sociológica” promoted by the Comunidad Valenciana Department of Justice. He has created a blog called Homo Datus, where the activity of political parties is monitored and cinema is analyzed from a gender and ethnic perspective, among other articles.
