Lucía Campanella

Lucía Campanella began her career as a Literature teacher in secondary education and continued her studies in Literature at the University of the Republic in Uruguay.

She completed her doctorate under a co-tutelle agreement between France and Italy, within the framework of an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. Her research focused on Comparative Literature, particularly the relationship between France and the Río de la Plata region.

Upon returning to Uruguay, Campanella worked at the University of the Republic in the areas of French Language and Literature, engaging with archives of the anarchist press and translation networks. Her work aimed to explore various aspects of literary translation in Uruguay. She is a member of the group “History of Translation in Uruguay,” which leads the R&D CSIC (Udelar) project “150 Years of Literary Translation in Uruguay.”

From 2023 to 2025, she was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow with the project “The Anarchist Translation Flows and World Literature Project” (ARGOT).

She is currently a senior researcher with the GlobaLS group and a member of the research team for the Trad-Divers project.
