Conference and GlobaLS seminar by Roger Chartier (École des hautes études en sciences sociales)

On June 1 and 2, French professor Roger Chartier, director of studies at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), will hold a conference and a seminar at Can Jaumandreu building, the new campus of UOC located at the 22@ district.

On Roger Chartier
He is a distinguished French historian and professor, specialized in the history of book, the history of publishing and the history of reading. He is a latest-generation member of the Annales school.

Chartier is Director d’Etudes at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris and Professor Emeritus at the Collège de France. He has been awarded the Annual Award of the American Printing History Association (1990) and is Honorary Doctor of Universidad Carlos III (Madrid) and Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (Argentina).

He directed the Histoire de l’édition française (1989-1990) together with Henri-Jean Martin. Chartier is the author of numerous books as El mundo como representación (1992), Libros lecturas y lectores en la Edad Moderna (1993), El orden de los libros (1996) and the recent Éditer et traduire (2021).
