GlobaLS to Host Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow Candidates
The Global Literary Studies Research Lab (GlobaLS) at the Arts and Humanities Department of Universitat Oberta de Catalunya’s Internet and the Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) invites researchers to apply for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) and receive guidance and support from GlobaLS throughout the application process.
About GlobaLS
GlobaLS connects literary studies to film, historical sociology, and digital humanities studies. Using a global, interdisciplinary, digital, and gender perspective, the GlobaLS team analyzes cross-border cultural and literary phenomena. We work with five lines of research: Global Translation Flows, the Global Novel, Global Literary Environments, Global Film, and Global Social Imaginaries.
We are currently coordinating the European Research Council (ERC) project “Social Networks of the Past. Mapping Hispanic and Lusophone Literary Modernity, 1898-1959” (Grant Agreement: 803860) and participating in the project “The Novel as Global Form. Poetic Challenges and Cross-Border Literary Circulation” (Reference: PID2020-118610GA-I00), funded by the Spanish Research Agency (AEI).
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowships
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowships seek to enhance the creative and innovative skills of postdoctoral researchers around the world. The fellowship provides funding for 12 to 24 months of research and focuses on developing a knowledge-generating project. The fellowship also focuses on career-development for researchers, who will work closely with a supervisor from a European or U. S. American university. The scholarship includes funding for the researcher’s salary, mobility allowance, family allowance (when applicable), and research expenses.
Applications for MSCA must be submitted by September 13, 2023.
Mentoring from GlobaLS
As a host institution, at GlobaLS we offer candidates the opportunity to work jointly with experienced supervisors who enjoy broad recognition in their fields and will offer guidance and support throughout the candidacy writing and presentation process. GlobaLS is practiced in the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowships and has secured several prior successes.
You may find information on the GlobaLS research-line coordinators below.
Requirements
Candidates will submit to a preselection process based on C. V., project proposal, and motivations. The requirements are as follows:
- Holding a Ph. D. and having full-time research experience.
- Choosing Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) as a host institution.
- We welcome candidates of all nationalities, but candidates must not have lived or worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the three years prior to the closing date of the call for applications, that is, September of 2023 (as per the mobility rule). Otherwise, candidates must choose the outgoing phase (to develop the project in a third country that is not associated with the European community), by which candidates must return to a European university for a second or third year of research.
