Aurea Mota (GlobaLS), visiting professor at Alberto Hurtado University (Chile)

Aurea Mota, sociologist and researcher at the Global Literary Studies Research Laboratory (GlobaLS), has been invited as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Alberto Hurtado University (Santiago, Chile). From May 13 to 19 she will participate online and from the May 20 she will continue her stay in person until June 6.

Mota is an interdisciplinary sociologist whose main research interests lie in social theory and comparative historical sociology. Her publications (including articles and books) deal with Latin America social and political thought, the human condition in the Anthropocene, historical sociology, and social theory.

Among other activities, Mota will be the professor of an intensive seminar for the Master’s Degree in Comparative Historical Sociology; give a lecture on social changes in Latin America at the opening of the academic year of the Faculty; participate in the Antologías del Pensamiento Latino Americano workshop; and present the work “El Constitucionalismo Latinoamericano y el Proceso Chileno”
